Welcome to our Brown Memorial AME website.

 BROWN MEMORIAL FAMILY DECLARES:

That we will go wherever we have to go and do

whatever we have to do to make more disciples

for Jesus Christ. We will baptize the unsaved, and

disciple all new members, by loving them first and

then teaching them obedience to the commandments

of our Lord Jesus and by helping them become committed

to the ways of God. We are committed to becoming a model

urban Church for the 21st Century by seeking to make the Great

Commission great again.

May the Lord bless you through this service.

In Service for the King,

Pastor Harrison and Gloria Ridgeway

About Us - Our Name

The word African means that the church was organized by people of African descent and heritage. It does not mean that the church was founded in Africa, or that it was for persons of African descent only.

The church's roots are of the family of Methodist churches. Methodism provides an orderly system of rules and regulations and places emphasis on a plain and simple gospel.

Episcopal refers to the form of government under which the church operates. The chief executive and administrative officers of the African Methodist Episcopal denomination are the Bishops of the church.
