Bold Faith
The third chapter of Acts moves the action of the apostles back into the realm of the specific, with the recounting of the crippled man healed at the “gate beautiful.” This story is historically important because it tells us how the Lord used Peter’s resulting message to add thousands more to the church. But it is spiritually important for all of us who are followers of Christ, because of the lessons it teaches us about the power of God, the authority of Jesus’ name and the place of bold faith in the life of the Christ-follower. It is to this that we turn our attention this week in our continuing study of the characteristics of effective churches (and disciples) found in the early chapters of the book of Acts. ...

Find Your Way Back...

That's really what Iron Hill is all about. It's not hard to get lost in this world, and we're not talking about just finding your way back to church or religion either. It's about more than that. It's about finding your way back to peace. The Bible says that God can give us a peace that is beyond understanding. It's about finding your way back to community. Iron Hill Church is about people- real people, not fake ones or judgmental ones. Find your way back to FUN. Yes, I said fun! Who said you can't have fun @ church? On Sunday mornings, we have a great reason to celebrate, make that REASONS to celebrate! Find your way back to a real relationship with God. The God of this world loves you and cares about you!

"The Ragamuffin Band"

Rick Elias and members from the band founded by Rich Mullins in 1993, when he gathered friends from other bands to back him on his "A Liturgy, a Legacy, & a Ragamuffin Band" album. The band continued to record and tour with Mullins, and even carried on after his 1997 death. The group's name is derived from Brennan Manning's 1990 book The Ragamuffin Gospel, which defines ragamuffins as "the burdened, the wobbly and weak-kneed, the inconsistent, unsteady disciples... the smart people who know they are stupid... the honest disciples who admit they are scalawags."  That sounds like us.  They sound like our kind of band! At the request of Rich's family, estate, and record label, Rick resumed the production of Rich's posthumous release "The Jesus Record". "The Jesus Record" (a double album, certified gold in 2001) went on to win 2 Dove Awards, and had two # 1 songs, "My Deliverer" (sung by Rick) and "Nothing Is Beyond You" (sung by Amy Grant). The Rags released one more album, "Prayers Of A Ragamuffin" in 1999, which included his song "Make Me An Instrument."  The "Rags" continue to produce soul stirring music and go on to do great things!
