Recent studies indicate that between 50% and 88% of teens raised in evangelical churches, leave the church after high school. Why? Studies suggest that many have come to doubt the accuracy and truth of God's word. Frank Turek notes that "intellectual skepticism is a major reason cited by those who have left."
America's Research Group recently completed an in-depth study of 1,000 young adults in their 20's who had regularly attended evangelical Christian churches as children and teens, but who now no longer attend church. They found that nearly 90% of these young adults began to doubt the truth or accuracy of God's Word before they ever went to college. Nearly 45% first had doubts in elementary school, (K-8) while another 44% first had doubts in high school. (From Already Gone, by Ken Ham and Britt Beemer)
Let's work together to change those statistics, because they are more than statistics- they are our children and teenagers.
